Fourth of July at the Air Force Memorial
The Air Force Memorial grounds are open including the hillside on July 4, 2008 to view the national fireworks display. The USAF Band’s Airmen of Note will be performing at the Memorial at 8pm.
Please bring plenty of water for hydration, dress in weather appropriate attire and use sunscreen. Due to safety concerns and large crowds, no grills are permitted. Possession and consumption of alcoholic beverages and the use of personal fireworks are prohibited. All coolers, backpacks, packages and persons will be subject to inspection. Please do not erect or stake canopies or tents on the Memorial grounds.
Road Closures:
From 7:45pm-12am
- Columbia Pike between Orme Street and the Pentagon.
- S. Joyce Street from Army Navy Drive to Columbia Pike
- South Gate Road from S. Oak Street to Columbia Pike
- Ramp from Westbound Washington Boulevard to Westbound Columbia Pike
- Ramp Westbound Washington Boulevard to Eastbound Columbia Pike
Independence Day event attendees are strongly encouraged to use public transportation. The Air Force Memorial is within walking distance of the Pentagon City Metro station.
