Tribute for: Alfred James Sharp  (Bay City, TX)
Tribute left by: Michael Sharp (Houston, TX)
I am writing this on behalf of my Father Alfred James Sharp. He passed away on October 26 2007. He served in the US Air Force for over 20 years and retired a Master SGT. The reason he is my Hero is because He along with my Grandmother decided that I deserved a chance at life when my parents where not interested in being parents. He was hard but firm and taught me right from wrong. I am now married and have a Son of my own. I pray that I do half as good as a Job as he did at being a father.

I must have been about two years old. It generates a lot of interest and questions so I have included your Bio.

Tribute for: Bill Winslow  (Titusville, FL)
Tribute left by: Bob Nay (Jacksonville, FL)
My uncle- William B Winslow- started as an enlisted soldier in 1935, became a WWII B17 pilot stationed in Thurleigh, England (Clay Pigeons -the 306 (H) Bomb Group,367 Squadron, the Mighty 8th Air Force), and retired after 25 years as a Lt Col, USAF. As one of our many WW2 heroes he was able to serve his country in a critical time and to live his passion- aviation. And this passion did not end upon his military retirement. He lived his last years in Titusville FL – close enough to look out from his yard and enjoy the space shots at Kennedy Space Center. He became my “flight mentor” as I fulfilled a life long dream of learning to fly late in life. After every flight lesson and many times in between we would spend “hanger” hours talking about my lessons and his experiences. Thank you Uncle Bill (Lt Col William B Winslow) for your service to America and aviation. You are our own “legend of air power”.
