| Colonel Bruce Grenci served in the Air Force from WWII through the Vietnam war. He did not share much of his career accomplishments with his family. It was not until his full honors military funeral in the summer of 2004 that his family came to realize that this man and his contributions to our country was truly valued by the Air Force. Uncle Bud brought much pride, happiness, love and laughter to our family. The US Air Force and our family were well served by Col. Grenci (Uncle Bud). |

| Thanks Dad, your patience teaching me Honor, Values, Fairness, Honesty, and Respect will always be remembered.
Remember when you sent me down to the tarmac to get a yard of flight line? That was a good one Dad! And the time you dove into a canal in Tampa Bay to wrestle my fishing bobber from that Horse-Shoe crab. And when I threw that baseball so high over your head you broke a leg jumping for it. The parachute tents you made from mop sticks. The "Beer Bust" cases you hid in the shed. Miss-U! |

Douglas Wellentin
(Edinburg, TX)
|
| Tribute left by: |
Loretta Wellentin (Grand Forks, ND) |
| My dad quietly flies the American flag in the front yard every day. He served in Vietnam, retired from the Air Force after twenty years, and then served twenty more years as a U.S. Customs Officer. Dad taught me about strength of character, and that loving your country means giving to it what you can. He's certainly not the type of man to seek praise or attention, but this tribute is well-deserved. My dad is my hero- he's the strongest man I know, and I am so proud to be his daughter. |

| Tribute for: |
Ssgt Misty Kinsey
(Osan AB, PA)
|
| Tribute left by: |
Melissa Stark (Enola, PA) |
| My daughter Misty is a hero in my eyes. Having gone into the Air Force immediately upon graduation from high school, the Air Force is truly the only life she knows. Although having a daughter go to Iraq and then Afghanistan was frightening, her positive attitude and dedication to "getting the job done" served to remind me of how much
members of the armed forces do for this country and how much we take for granted the freedoms that their service provide us. |

Henry Bennett
(Austin, TX)
|
| Tribute left by: |
Tim Bennett (Alexandria, VA) |
| My father, Henry W. Bennett, took a chance as a young Army Aircorps Lieutenant in 1947. He decided that this new "Air Force" was the place to be if you wanted to serve your country as a pilot. He took an big chance and transfered to the new Service as one of its first pilots. His dedication and patriotism led to a 26 year career as an Air Force pilot, and helped me to decide follow in his footsteps with my own 26 year career as an Air Force pilot. Thanks Dad, you were a true inspiration. |

John Duane
(Unknown)
|
| Tribute left by: |
Timothy Dvorak (Stafford, VA) |
| Col. John P. Duane was commander of the 609th TCS in Bad Munder, W. Germany, from '81 to '84. I was assigned there in '82 to '84, Col. Duane was my commander.
His style of leadership allowed for high morale in our unit. I think his attitude was 'Take care of the people, they will take care of the mission.' He honestly cared for everyone under his command, including lowly E-2 airmen. I remember his words of wisdom & guidance; even after 22 years. He is buried at Arlington Natl. Cemetery. |

Lisa Lourake (Brandywine, MD) |
| My husband has been in the Air Force for 19 years. About 8 years ago he was in a bad accident that ended his flying career. He tried to save his badly damaged leg for over 3 years. He was in a lot of pain and tried really hard to make his leg work, but nothing seemed to work and he really missed flying. So he made a very hard decision to amputate his leg above the knee. He is now the First Above Knee Amputee Air Force Pilot. I am so proud of his accomplishments. He inspires so many people |

| Tribute for: |
Capt Grafton N Smith
|
| Tribute left by: |
John F Hampton (Brockport, NY) |
| In June of 1958 Capt. Smith did an outstanding job in flying our disabled RB-50 across the Pacific from Hawaii to California. After losing and outboard engine on right wing and a fire in the inboard engine on same wing he was faced with the task of flying our fully loaded bomber to the states with but two engines. The job was all but impossible as a bomber our size and weight does not fly well on two engines and a very serious challenge when they are both on one wing. He got us back safely. |

| Rob is truly an extraordinary Air Force Hero! The commitment and love he has for this country is out of this world. It is easier for me to sleep at night knowing him and many others like him are fighting for our freedom and protecting us, and our beliefs. I am blessed to have him in my life.

| I would like to recoginize and post a triute to my father. He has served in the U.S Army for more than 20 years. His pride and dedication he has to serve is admirable. He has been through and seen so much over his career. I honor the courage that he has to stand up... not just for his friends and family but for his country! I just want to thank him for all that he has done and what he continue's on to do! I love you dad! |
